將車停在水平地面上，拉緊手剎，空擋狀態下怠速運轉發動機使油溫達到60度左右。再進行切換手柄操作，使擋位桿在各擋位停留3秒鐘，以便液力變矩器和所有換檔執行器充滿液壓油，后掛入P擋狀態。

Park the vehicle on the horizontal ground, tighten the hand brake, and idle the engine in neutral to make the oil temperature reach about 60 degrees. Then operate the switch handle to make the gear lever stay at each gear for 3 seconds, so that the hydraulic torque converter and all shift actuators are filled with hydraulic oil, and then shift to p gear.

開始檢查油尺，先從油管內把油尺拔出來把表面油漬擦干凈，再將擦干凈的油尺全部插入加油管后再拔出來。觀察油面高度，正常油量應該是在上線與下線之間，油尺的2/3刻度處。如果低于低刻度線，說明油少了，如果高于高刻度線，說明油多了。（這里要特別提醒大家，在啟動發動機之前一定要確保油尺油浸深度不能小于10mm，然后才能開始進行波箱預熱操作。）

變速箱沒有油尺的話可以通過溢流孔進行檢測。溢流孔有的是在變速箱下面，有的是在油底殼上方，有的是在變速箱中殼上面。著車狀態（注意也有小部分車需要熄火檢測）下，擰開油位螺絲，流淌出的油液呈現出“連續的線狀”即為正常油位。
